Hydraulic Engineering
Inquire NowDescription
The Longyou Muchen reservoir project represents a significant advancement in hydraulic engineering, showcasing a combination of flood control, irrigation, and power generation capabilities. Strategically located on the upper reaches of the Qiantang River’s tributary, this reservoir is designed to optimize water resource management while enhancing the ecological environment. With an impressive total reservoir capacity of 125.71 million cubic meters, it serves as a vital water supply for agricultural and municipal needs in Longyou County.
The dam itself, a concrete face rockfill structure, boasts a maximum height of 56.9 meters and spans 444 meters in length, featuring a crest width of 6 meters. The accompanying powerhouse is equipped with two sets of 6300 kW Francis turbine generator units, with a total installed capacity of 6.3 thousand kilowatts, yielding an annual power output of 38.33 million kWh. The project commenced construction in December 2006, with impoundment completed by April 2009, and the power generation unit was connected to the grid by August 2009. This project is not only pivotal for flood protection but also for fostering local economic development and improving the investment climate in Longyou County.
