MN Undervoltage Release: The MN release is engineered to open the circuit breaker when the supply voltage drops below 35% of its rated voltage (Un). This feature ensures fail-safe tripping, especially when combined with an emergency-off button. The MN release operates continuously; any interruption in the supply, whether voluntary via the emergency-off button or accidental due to power loss or faulty wiring, triggers the circuit breaker to open.

Opening Conditions: The MN release adheres to the IEC 60947-2 standard. The conditions for automatic opening of the circuit breaker include:

• Automatic opening occurs when the continuous voltage supply to the release is U y ≤ 0.35 x Un.
• If the supply voltage is between 0.35 and 0.7 Un, opening is possible but not guaranteed, whereas above 0.7 Un, opening does not occur.

Closing Conditions: The circuit breaker cannot be closed manually or electrically without supply to the MN release. Closing is possible only when the voltage supply to the release is U u ≥ 0.85 x Un; below this threshold, closing is not ensured.

MX Shunt Release: The MX release operates by opening the circuit breaker through an impulse-type (u ≤ 20 ms) or maintained order.

Opening Conditions: Supplied MX release ensures automatic opening of the circuit breaker for a voltage U u ≤ 0.7 x Un.

Circuit Breaker Control by MN or MX: After tripping by an MN or MX release, the circuit breaker must be reset to be reclosed. MN or MX tripping takes precedence over manual closing, and closing of contacts is impossible while a trip order is standing. The device is designed for connection with wires up to 1.5 mm² to integrated terminal blocks.
