OPGW
Inquire NowDescription
OPGW cable, or Optical Fiber Composite Overhead Ground Wire, is an innovative solution designed for modern power lines. This dual-function cable serves both as a ground wire and a communication medium, making it ideal for installation on new power lines, including normal voltage and extra high voltage applications. OPGW cables are also capable of replacing traditional ground wires in older power lines, enhancing them with fiber communication capabilities.
These cables not only provide protection by conducting short circuit currents but also offer resistance to lightning strikes. The OPGW cable typically features two structural designs: the central tube OPGW cable, which maximizes optical fiber excess length within a compact steel tube, and the stranded OPGW cable, which allows for secondary excess length. The design ensures that the diameter of the stainless steel tube is larger than conventional ACSR or aluminum alloy wires, placing it in the center of the stranded structure for optimal performance.
