The R&D division of China XD Group specializes in cutting-edge research and testing for high voltage and high power systems. With a commitment to innovation, this division conducts extensive testing on AC transmission and distribution equipment, capable of handling voltages up to 1000 kV. The facility boasts impressive testing capabilities, including a long-term temperature rise test at 21kA power frequency current, a 140kA rated short-time withstand current (4 seconds peak), and a 350kA rated peak withstand current. Furthermore, the center is equipped for synthetic tests at 550KV/63KA for whole pole and 800KV/63KA for half pole configurations, making it a comprehensive resource for evaluating 800kV apparatus.
As a national research and testing base, China XD Group promotes international collaboration and has a notable presence in key international committees, including the IEC and CIGRE. The organization plays a vital role in the development of ±800kV UHVDC and 1000KV UHVAC systems, contributing critical equipment to major projects such as the first 1000 kV UHVAC transmission project from Jin Dongnan to Jingmen and the first ±800kV UHVDC transmission project from Yunnan to Guangzhou.
