Description

Sala Kang Hydropower is a cutting-edge hydropower station located in the serene landscapes of Laos, specifically along the Mekong River mainstream. As part of a strategic plan comprising five cascade hydropower stations, Sala Kang is positioned in the upper reaches of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, within the Shaye Buri Province, approximately 1.5 km from the Culture and Sport Village of Tao County and just 2 km away from the border with Thailand.

With a normal water level of 220 meters, this power station utilizes 12 advanced bulb tubular turbines, boasting a total installed capacity of 660 MW. Sala Kang is designed not only for power generation but also focuses on efficient shipping and sustainable practices, ensuring minimal environmental impact while maximizing energy output.
