Case Study
CRCHI supplied a Single Shield TBM with a diameter of 6,880mm for the construction of the Chongqing metro tunnel in China, marking the first use of this technology in urban metro projects. This TBM, equipped with a powerful drive system and an adaptable cutterhead, successfully navigated through a 3.84km section primarily composed of sandy mudstone, sandstone, and argillaceous siltstone. The project achieved remarkable tunneling rates, with a maximum daily advance of 30m and a monthly advance of 546m, culminating in a successful breakthrough in November 2016.
