CRCHI’s slurry Tunnel Boring Machines (TBMs) are engineered to deliver reliable and efficient tunneling solutions in challenging heterogeneous ground conditions characterized by high water permeability and groundwater pressure. Ideal for constructing metropolitan metro systems, highway tunnels, water diversion tunnels, and complex crossing-river or crossing-sea tunnels, these TBMs ensure safe and expedited excavation.
Working Principles of Slurry TBMs:
Utilizing pressurized slurry as a support medium, slurry TBMs effectively balance the surrounding soil and water pressures. The rotating cutterhead, equipped with advanced cutting tools, excavates the tunnel face while the excavated material is mixed with water and additives to create a slurry. This slurry is then transported through a slurry pipe to a separation plant for processing and recycling back to the tunnel face.
Features of CRCHI’s Slurry TBMs:
- Available in various diameters: small-diameter (below 5m), normal-diameter (5m to 8m), large-diameter (8m to 11m), and mega slurry TBMs (above 11m).
- Two methods for accurate pressure control: direct control via slurry pump speed regulation and indirect control using an air-filled chamber for precise excavation chamber pressure regulation.
- Advanced cutterhead designs and a robust slurry circulation system ensure high operational reliability.
- Long-lasting main bearings, main drive seals, and gearboxes for enhanced safety and durability.
- Innovative technologies addressing industry challenges, including cutter change in free air, real-time cutter wear monitoring, and automatic deviation correction.
