The SS3B Electric Locomotive is a cutting-edge transportation solution featuring a dual-unit design composed of two identical 6-axle locomotives, interconnected by internal coupling to form a complete and efficient system. Each unit is equipped with a traction transformer and two rectifiers, enhancing the locomotive’s power and operational reliability. The innovative design allows each rectifier to energize three shunted DC traction motors, which can be isolated individually in case of failure. This ensures the continued performance of the remaining motors, thereby maximizing the locomotive’s utilization and efficiency.

For safety and performance, the SS3B utilizes the DK-1 E-P brake system, specifically designed for SS series locomotives, complemented by dynamic braking through backup resistance to ensure optimal control in various operational conditions.
