Description

The Inlet Butterfly Valve is a high-performance flow control solution that integrates mechanical, hydraulic, and electric systems. Designed with a double-eccentric butterfly disc, this valve ensures exceptional safety, preventing damage or deformation under various operational conditions. Its unique double-plate overflow design promotes excellent hydraulic characteristics and a low flow resistance coefficient.

Primarily installed between the penstock’s end and the turbine spiral case’s inlet, this valve plays a crucial role in protecting the turbine unit. It effectively cuts off the upstream water source during maintenance and overhaul operations. In emergencies, such as runaway speed conditions where the guide vane fails to close, the Inlet Butterfly Valve can swiftly halt water flow from the spiral case, averting potential disasters.

Comprising a hydraulic butterfly valve (which includes hydraulic and electric control systems), upstream and downstream connection pipes, a main dismantling joint, a bypass pipeline system, an air exhaust valve system, and a drainage system, this product is engineered for reliability and ease of use.

The hydraulic butterfly valve itself consists of a valve body, disc, trunnion, bearing, sealing device, and operational mechanism. It can be classified into accumulator types (operated by hydraulic control) and counterweight types (opened by hydraulic and closed by counterweight). Furthermore, the valve can feature single seals (rubber or metal) or double seals, typically with a rubber service seal and a metal maintenance seal.

With its self-tightening double seal and box structure design, the trunnion end seal ensures effective sealing while facilitating easy disassembly and maintenance. The integrated manifold block of the accumulator hydraulic system is compact and highly reliable, while the electric control system offers dual power supply and control modes, along with remote fault diagnosis capabilities. Additionally, the bypass valve utilizes a needle valve to dissipate energy and protect downstream systems from harmful impacts.
